The roof terrace faces the lagoon
Both bedrooms and the rooftop terrace look over the Keurbooms lagoon and the hills behind it rather than the open sea, despite the sea-view billing. It is a wide, calm outlook and it changes with the tide. The water feature out on the deck is a small outdoor hot tub rather than a full pool, which is worth knowing before you pack.
Wingbacks, cowhide, dark timber
Inside there are two separate lounges, which in a four-bedroom house means the people watching television and the people talking no longer have to negotiate. The furnishings run to leather wingback chairs and a cowhide rug laid over dark timber floors. Three bathrooms serve the four bedrooms, and there are family rooms among them.
Set up for a long stay
This is self-catering, with a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine and braai facilities for the evenings nobody can face driving into town.
